At least that's the bill of goods we were sold upon its acquisition, we don't have papers for it or anything. Was found at an antique collector's residence, which Jess recalls being an 1800s-looking primitive rustic cabin. Cast-iron with a decorative coppery/wood-grain hybrid finish where it hasn't worn/rusted. Extremely heavy. Pretty cool on its own, though I could see someone sandblasting it into an entirely different look.
