WW1 Victory Lamp

WW1 “Victory Lamp” manufactured by Snead & Company Iron Works in Jersey City, NJ in 1919, following the “Morgan Explosion” and in celebration of peace declared the year prior. The lamp body is a 45 mm bullet saved from the explosion, resting on a metal base. Copper band circles the base with the inscription of Isaiah 2:4 from the Old Testament:

“They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore”
This heavy-duty memorial lamp measures 6.5” x 16.5” tall
